John B. Totaro, Jr.
John B. Totaro, Jr., resident in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, advises clients on a range of international trade and Customs law matters. Mr. Totaro’s practice focuses on assisting U.S. importers to comply with their responsibilities under U.S. Customs law and representing domestic producers, foreign producers and U.S. importers in antidumping proceedings. He also advises firms on compliance with U.S. export control laws and economic sanctions programs. In addition, Mr. Totaro counsels U.S. and foreign-based clients on trademark matters and prosecutes trademark applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Before beginning his law practice, Mr. Totaro served as a Senior Import Compliance Specialist with the Import Administration division (now Enforcement and Compliance) of the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Mr. Totaro is a graduate of Kenyon College and the University of Richmond’s T.C. Williams School of Law, and he earned a Masters of Law degree from the University of Amsterdam. He is a member of the Virginia and District of Columbia Bars, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
